That the prevailing food crisis has worsened the lives of the marginalised sections of
the populace was never in doubt. The thirty interviews, one from each agro-ecological
zone of the country, not only substantiates that conviction but also illustrates a few
common trends that potentially threaten small scale agriculture, and thereby the
backbone of the national economy.
