The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Campaign for Sustainable Rural Livelihoods (CSRL) has decided to facilitate a new national campaign in Bangladesh called Renewable Energy for Sustainable Livelihoods. The campaign will include three pillars.
The first one is ‘One ZERO for Three Zero’ where ‘One ZERO’ indicates zero tariffs on all types of equipment required for Renewable Energy production and use, and ‘Three ZERO’ is used for zero poverty, zero unemployment, and zero emissions.
The second pillar of the campaign will be Net Metering to achieve energy equity, employment generation, and economic development.
The third pillar will be Knowledge is Power: Knowledge for Power to enhance energy literacy towards Just and Equitable Energy Transition in Bangladesh.
The CSRL AGM held on 18-19 October in Dhaka was presided over by eminent agriculture economist Dr. Jahangir Alam and moderated by Ziaul Hoque Mukta, was participated by the Chief Executives of more than 100 development organizations active in all Agro-ecological Zones of Bangladesh.
